You should know that all entries must be submitted electronically on the Electronic Diversity Visa (E-DV) website. There is a limited period of time during which you can register for the Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) Program. Once you submitted a complete entry, you will receive the confirmation letter with your name and a unique confirmation number that you have to retain for further checking your status. The selection of applicants is held randomly оn or about May 5. If your entry is selected, you will be guided by further instructions, including information on fees connected with immigration to the United States.
It is necessary to know that selection in DV Green Card Lottery does not guarantee you will receive a visa. In order to receive a DV to immigrate to the United States, selectees must still meet the qualifying education or work experience requirements. The next step will be to prepare to the visa interview: submitting a visa application, providing supporting documentation (you should bring all the documents including the confirmation letter to the visa interview). You will only be scheduled for an interview when and if there is a visa number available for you.
