This type of visa issues to housekeeping helpers — cooks, maids, nannies, etc. — they go to their employers. Their categories depend on the profession of the employer.
Domestic workers diplomats issue visas A3. For those who work for employees of international organizations, a G5 category document is intended. Those traveling to work for US citizens should apply for a B1 visa.
Required documents and information:
- Electronic application for a nonimmigrant visa (form DS-160);
- A valid passport with a validity of not less than six months longer than the intended period of stay in the United States (unless the relevant interstate agreements allow the use of other terms). If other persons are entered in your passport, each of these persons who wish to obtain a visa must submit a separate application;
- One photo size is 5 x 5 cm;
- A copy of the employer’s visa or other document entitling to enter the United States (passport of the country participating in the visa-free entry program or the United States passport);
- An employment contract signed by the employee and the employer, containing all conditions.
Requirements for domestic workers:
- The purpose of the trip is to work as an assistant (only);
- The employer’s previous service life of at least one year;
- The existence of employment contract;
- Confirmation that the employee will be provided with food, accommodation and payment of tickets for the flight.
The applicant must pass an interview at the consulate, as well as provide all standard documents for obtaining a visa:
- A valid passport with a validity more than six months longer than the duration of intended period of staying in the United States;
- If other persons are entered in your passport, each of these persons who wish to obtain a visa must submit a separate application form;
- Electronic visa application form for obtaining a non-immigrant visa (DS-160 form);
- Photo (5 x 5 cm);
- Receipt of payment of the fee for the consideration of an application for a non-immigrant visa in the amount of $ 160, is paid in country currency;
- Confirmation letter of the assigned interview with a bar code that confirms that you have signed up for an interview.
